Working capital management - Case study American standard Vietnam incorporation
Abstract
Working capital management is now very vital for a business survival. This is
the premise to understand that the recent companies‟ failures which has been contributed
by the inefficient working capital management. That is why my thesis aims to study the working capital management in one company, using American Standard Vietnam Incorporation (ASVN Inc.) as a case study. The objective of this thesis is to establish factors influencing working capital management such as cash management, inventory management and trade credit management.
The research has been based on the combination of primary data from the interview ASVN‟s manager and secondary data of its financial statement analysis. As the result, the main finding points out the ASVN‟s working capital management which is not efficient one. According to the answers of ASVN‟s accountant managers for closed- ended interview questions, the company has just scored 49% (in total 100%) as average performance corresponding to not impressive financial statements‟ analysis.
The finding results of this study may give to analysts, researchers a meaningful illustration about the inefficient management in working capital, namely, the case study‟s company. Therefore, it is also the experience which will contribute to our
own knowledge how to growth and control business successfully.
