Understanding major factors influencing : The employee job satisfaction : Case study of FQM Corporation
Abstract
Human Resource has always been a „hot‟ topic that managers and many
organizations nowadays never stop seeking for new ways to better control and improve
its quality. Being one of the crucial keys to success of any companies, human resource has even become so important ever and should be better valued by managers regardless
of positions, if they want their company to be sustainable and stand still.
However, doing different things to meet all the wishes and desires from the employees so as to increase their satisfaction at work and to retain talents for the long term is quite difficult. Different employees demand different things in their life. Their needs are diversified and it is better for managers to control and improve the top big factors that have great influences on employee job satisfaction first, then to concern other secondary needs.
This research is created with the aim to meet 2 main purposes. First, it helps identify and provide more specific viewpoints on those major factors that have influence
on the job satisfaction of the employees in the company being studied which is FQM Corporation. And second, some recommendations are proposed so that the company can take as a small reference for their activities on improving the quality of their staffs as well
as to satisfy their human in a better way. This research is done by applying in-depth interview with 7 respondents from FQM Corporation. There are then parts for data analysis and recommendations in the end of this research.
Besides analyzing the opinions collected from employees in accordance with each factor, this research also came up with the result that the four factors, i.e. Pay, Opportunities for promotion, Developing opportunities and Job characteristics, are the
four most important things to employees in FQM Corporation at work.
