| dc.description.abstract | With the overall purpose is to design a performance appraisal system, this thesis used
H&B stores as a case study to conduct the design. The model of appraisal methods such
as Balance scorecard combining with KPIs, 360 degree appraisal and behaviorially anchored rating scale (BARS) are used as theoretical foundation during the process. The qualitative method was applied with the type of semi-structured interview, using both top
– down and bottom – up methods on 9 people currently working in this company. The respondents were chosen to represent for each position in H&B stores. After the interview, data was interpreted, analyzed by themes following strictly the research objectives. As a result, the job descriptions at 8 positions have been revised, 8 forms for these 8 positions have been designed completely and get the approval from the General Director. Also the pilot study with 2 out of 8 positions has been conducted to see the appropriateness and the employee’s viewpoints. Then the appraisal process was developed, aimed at benefits for both the manager and the employees.
In conclusion, there are still some limitations on this thesis since it doesn’t conduct the pilot study for each every positions in H&B stores yet, besides, the reward system hasn’t been developed yet due to the limit in time and the busy times in the company, but some recommendations are made on the reward system so that H&B stores can have a
foundation when they do another research on designing a reward system in the future. | en_US |
