Designing power amplifier for radar transmitter at S-Band (3.1-3.5 GHz) using MGF2430A transistor
Abstract
RF Power Amplifier is one of the most fundamental blocks in a transceiver. It is not same as a normal amplifier. It always has a high frequency range typically from MHz to GHz. The main purpose of a RF Power Amplifier is to make radio signal to have enough power for transmitting information through the air from the transmitter to receiver. In this project, S-band 3.1-3.5 GHz Power Amplifier using MGF2430A transistor is designed and simulated before fabricating by using Agilent Advanced Design System software.
The specifications for the design are:
Maximum output power ≥ 27 dBm
Linear Power Gain > 5 dB
Power Added Efficiency > 20%
S_11& S_22< -12 dB
K > 1
