International university students' skills with sale jobs
Abstract
With the background of recruiting skillful employees in developing market as
Viet Nam, this research attempts to find out the gap between what employers need and
what International University (IU) students have in sale skills. Based on Competency
Dictionary(2007) and other shared of Vietnamese experts, 20 competencies have been
pointed out to used in this research.
Quantitative is the main method to be use with 2 groups of sample: employers
and IU students. Then 45 respondents of employers from most main business field in Viet
Nam ( product and service) has been collected to compare with 200 respondents of IU
student, which focus on BA students, last years and with both male and female gender.
After that, using Independent sample T test helped this research to have 2 comparisons
between employers-IU students and male-female. One more results is also found out is
the assistance level that the school has helped students to improve those skills during
study period.
In conclusion, it is seemed to be the same for a lot of skills that employers‟
need. However, there are some key skills that IU students have not met the requirement.
Some conclusions were made to help students understand what employers need that they
still slack. Then, some recommend strategies for both the school and students to improve
such competencies are also pointed out.
