dc.description.abstract | The fact that tourism has been developing rapidly in recent years makes it become a leading economic section of every nation all over the world, and Japanese is one of the most popular destination for travelling. After Vietnam joins WTO, cultural integration is inevitable, including the influence of Japanese culture upon Vietnamese people, plus manga and anime is a part of Japanese culture. This study was conducted to examine how manga and anime have an impact on the process of making travel decision of Vietnamese fans. The foundation of the conceptual model is based on the model of Lee and Scott (2008) which contain four variables: manga and anime involvement, familiarity, destination image and intention to visit.
The results drawn from data analysis indicated that manga and anime involvement and familiarity were positively related to destination image. They also proposed the positive relationship between destination image and intention to visit. Thus, the model proposed in literature review was modified to build the final framework for the research. Also, in the conclusion recommendation part, a suggestion for a strategy of tourism companies in Vietnam was made base on the finding of the research.
The final chapter proposed the conclusion based on final result, then defined some particular limitations and came up with practical recommendations related to enhancing fans‟s destination image for future researches as well as comments involved social issues.
