Financial analysis and valuation case study : Cuu Long fish joint stock company (ACL)- Catfish sector
Abstract
Financial Analysis and Valuation are the two major tasks for analyzing a company, or a
specific stock. In the scope of my thesis, financial ratios are calculated as a base for financial analysis and
two different valuation approaches are applied for specific company in Catfish sector of Viet Nam, Cuu
Long Fish Joint Stock Company (ACL). Different valuation approach gives different results of the share
price. Based on the valuation matrix of these approaches, a final intrinsic value of the stock is given,
together with the investment recommendation. The Financial Analysis and Valuation are sensitive to
many assumptions, thus, necessary sensitivity analysis are also cited. ACL shows impressive
performance in comparison with other comparable firms in the same Catfish sector although its
business size and charter capital is small in relative with these firms. Finally, the Valuation process
proves that ACL is a very attractive stock for investors to invest in long term.
