Factors affect productivity of direct workers in manufacturing industry - The case of Bosch Vietnam
Abstract
Nowadays, with the increasing in the competitive advantage in the globalized competition, productivity is always a key factor influencing profitability, competitiveness and the growth of a firm. Because of that reason, many literatures on factors affect productivity of employees has been conducting and increasing recently.
This paper investigates the effective factors of labor productivity at manufacturing industry. The analysis is based on the interviews of different levels of Bosch Vietnam. It includes some main factors and measures all of those factors, and give the solution or advice afterwards.
The results of many interviews stated that the human factors ( including manager or leader, even direct workers), manufacturing systems (including manufacturing system flexibility, manufacturing system support) and some environmental factors (including wage level, bonuses, benefits, working environment and training program) is influencing individual work performance.
In conclusion, this study provides important point of view to supervisors and managers level by identifying main factors affect employee productivity at Bosch. This study will support supervisors and managers as a reference tool for improvement the productivity of Bosch Vietnam.
