Social capital dimensions affecting on knowledge sharing attitude and quality - The case of Ho Chi Minh city
Abstract
As remaining knowledge contributes to the companies' stable development, knowledge management has become a critical concern to many modern managers. In this research, knowledge sharing will be studied on two aspects: knowledge sharing attitude and knowledge sharing quality, which are supposed to be affected by social capital dimensions (structural, relational and cognitive dimensions). The survey was conducted in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), aiming to young labor using convenience sampling method. The survey was distributed via Facebook and collected 303 valid responses. Data analysis uses Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) approach. The findings indicated that structural, relational and cognitive dimensions all have a positive effect on knowledge sharing process. While trust was the weakest factor affecting the sharing attitude, reciprocity was the
strongest factor associating with the knowledge sharing point of view. This result may help the organizations in reinforcement the employee in the knowledge management process with proper policies and investment on social capital dimensions.
