dc.description.abstractThis study was conducted to evaluate the satisfaction about job and job aspects of young employees participating in part-time employment at coffee and milk tea chain stores. Additionally, this research investigated the contribution level of each job factor to overall job satisfaction of young part-timers. The research proposed a model which consists of six independent variables including Job Characteristics, Pay, Relationship with Supervisor, Relationship with Co-workers, Promotion Opportunities and Training & Development and one dependent variable which is Overall Job Satisfaction. A sample of 236 young part-time employees aged 18 to 24 from various coffee and milk tea chain stores were collected in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong province by snowball and convenience sampling methods. IMB SPSS 25.0 was employed for data analysis. Research results indicate that part-time workers at young ages rated their job satisfaction above average, while five job factors positively impact the job satisfaction including Job Characteristics, Pay, Relationship with Co-workers, Promotion Opportunities and Training & Development. Academically, this study contributes to the knowledge as a study exclusively for young part-time employees in the context of limited research on the satisfaction about job and job aspects of young aged employees working part-time in Vietnam. Practically, the findings of this research bring assistance for managers to understand the needs and desires of Vietnamese young part-timers; thereby, proper policies can be implemented with the purpose of improving employee job satisfaction that helps to grow the overall company's productivity, decline worker turnover, and retent and develop young part-time employees who are potential to become customers, full-time workers or leaders of the company in the future. Furthermore, when the levels of impact of job aspects towards work satisfaction of young part-timers are clarified, managers can concentrate on majorly influential factors to benefit in cost and time savings, and the enhancement of effectiveness.
