Credit risk management at DongA Bank
Abstract
It is pretty obvious that credit operations are considered as the main sources of income, assets of commercial banks in increasingly ongoing development of banking system. Along with its development, in fact, over the years, concerns about risks, distress in credit performance and credit risk management system around the world have been increased, and Vietnam is no exception. As a matter of fact, authorizers, managers in banking system still face lots of obstacles in at the same time forming a professional, strong system of credit risk management and maximizing their profits.
In this thesis, the major objectives are to analyze Donga Bank’s credit operations, performance of credit risk management, its limitations as well as giving some recommendations to improve Donga Bank’s credit management.
In order to carry out assessment of Donga Bank’s credit risk management, I had
in-depth interviews with credit staff of this bank. Plus, I also collected information from annual reports, internal policies of the bank as well as from magazines, newspapers, and internet.
In fact, some alternatives recommended for enhancing of Donga Bank’s credit
risk management are identified by going analyzing deeply into its credit performance and credit controlling.
