In this study, a direct triplex real-time PCR method was applied to identify directly three agents without extracting DNA including Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus agalactiae, and Streptococcus suis on 1767 cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of patients under 5 years in Southern Vietnam collected from 2012 to 2019. The method showed the allowable sensitivity and high specificity, and less time-consuming, with the LOD was 1.2 x 104 copies/mL in S. pyogenes, 2.04 x 104 copies/mL in S. agalactiae, 1.25 x 104 copies/mL in S. suis. Of a total of 1767 specimens, 18 specimens have positive signals with S. agalactiae, and the infected rate was defined at 1.02% over 7 years.en_US
