The Strategies Of Organizational Resilience For Vietnamese Small-And Medium-Sized Firms
Abstract
Due to limited internal resources and inadequate managerial abilities, Vietnamese
small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) struggle to survive in the inequality of
technological revolution and economic recession. This research aims to investigate how
SMEs employ their IT capability to overcome a crisis, grasp chances for innovation,
respond to everchanging business circumstances, and initiate new competitive efforts.
Using PLS-SEM to analyze the data collected from 296 Vietnamese SMEs, this research
has found the positive significant impacts of IT capability, organizational ambidexterity,
and organizational resilience on organizational performance. IT capability positively
affects organizational ambidexterity and organizational resilience. In turn, these outcomes
favorably impact firm performance. The findings have strengthened the resource-based
view with empirical evidence of SMEs in an emerging market. This study highlights the
guidance for SMEs to allocate their internal resources effectively.
