Nexus Between Covid 19 Infections And Exchange Rate: An Empirical Studies From Vietnam
Abstract
Research thesis on the impact of Covid 19 on the exchange rate during the
outbreak of the disease in Vietnam. The number of infections and deaths are
accepted as variables for the impact of the Coronavirus - SARS COV 2 epidemic.
Meanwhile, the exchange rates are taken from the countries and territories that trade
with Vietnam the most in 2021, which are US Dollars, Yuan, Korea Won and Euros.
The test results using ARDL show the negative impact of the number of infections
and deaths on the exchange rate between the Vietnamese dong and the renminbi.
Meanwhile, the VAR test found a negative effect of the number of deaths on the
USD-VND exchange rate. Meanwhile, further detection of USD/VND, KRW/VND
and EUR/VND exchange rates affects itself.
