Factors Affecting Manager's Management In Teleworking During Covid-19 Pandemic
Abstract
The sudden and rapid emerging of COVID-19 in December of 2019 started in
Wuhan, Mainland China (Ciotti, M. et al., 2019), has now exposed the world now to the
greater threat than ever. The COVID-19’s spreading speed and mechanism had killed
4,361,996 people around the world and for Vietnam, 5,774 cases of death (WHO
Coronavirus (COVID-19) Dashboard, n.d.). Most of the firms have been forced to
reallocate their business – from operating business in a physical location to establishing
online in the effort of ensuring the health of their employees and ultimately protecting
their employees’ life. Teleworking or Work from Home has opened a new opportunity
for businesses to maintain their operation during this threatening COVID-19 pandemic.
Teleworking or Work from Home are not new phenomenon. Before COVID-19
epidemic, telework has been applied by numerous organizations. However, under the
perspective of managers or supervisors, there are a lot of factors that considered affecting
their management performance. Many researchers have carried out studies to gain an
insight, understand and overcome the challenges and extend the benefit of teleworking
as well as boosting the management of managers during this digital age. In some pioneer
research, there have been various factors mentioned and carefully studied. Nguyen, M.
H. (2021) had pointed out some factors such as opportunity, preference, choice and
frequency.
A quantitative method was approached consisting of an expected collection of 300
valid survey from people who already had experience in teleworking or currently
working under teleworking program at employee level. The survey will focus on guiding
the evaluation of respondents to certain prepared factors related to the management of
managers during teleworking process in the COVID-19 era in this research papers.
