dc.description.abstractTyrosinase is the primary enzyme in mammalian melanogenesis. Excessive melanin production and buildup cause pigmentary diseases in humans. Researchers are researching melanogenesis inhibitors for medicinal, cosmetic, and food uses. Certain plant essential oils (EOs) and their constituent parts have been found to exhibit a variety of biological functions. In this study, Melaleuca alternifolia and Perilla frutescens essential oil were investigated for their antityrosinase activity. The EOs were extracted by Microwave-assisted method with the yield 2.01%0.11 for tea tree oil, and 0.121%0.005 for Perilla frutescens essential oil, and their components were assessed by gas chromatography-mass spectrom (GC-MS). Tyrosinase inhibition was tested for each essential, the combination of these essential oils with different ratios. The mixture having the highest concentration of Perrila frutescens essential oils exhibited the most effective tyrosinase inhibition with 7.87%. Then applying this sample into cream, the percentage of tyrosinase inhibition reduced to 4.12%. As the result, the combination of tea tree oil and Perilla frutescens essential oil had the moderate tyrosinase inhibitory activityen_US
