A study on employee satisfaction towards training program in II-VI Vietnam Company Limited.
Abstract
In fact, training is a key human resource management function undertaken by almost businesses in order to ensure that organizations gain its objectives or even its success in competitive market these days via the acquisition, motivation and retention of qualified and competent workforce.
The research ―A study on employee satisfaction towards training in II-VI Vietnam
Company Limited‖ was conducted to discover the current training practices and process
at this company and develop a research model for evaluating the aspects of training program as well as examining the impact of training dimensions on employees‘ training satisfaction. To acquire this objective, during the period of four months since January,
2013, the research has been carried out in Human Resource industry of II-VI Vietnam Co., Ltd. The research was began by reviewing secondary data such as literatures, related theories, theoretical framework and other sources to identify and modify the conceptual framework of the study. To be more specific, the research model contained six factors of Training including Instructors, Training Duration, Training Contents, Training Environment, Training Opportunities and Training Transfer.
Both qualitative and quantitative approaches were used in the research. At first stage, qualitative method involved an in-depth interview with Ms. Nguyen Do Hiep Hoa, HR Manager of II-VI Vietnam Company Limited in order to know the background of the company, understand the present training procedure at the company together with aware
so much important information related to the thesis topic. After thirty minutes for the interview, the scale of training is adjusted to be appropriate with the situation of II-VI
Vietnam Company Limited in this research and applied them into survey questionnaire of

staff in data collecting stage. However, quantitative technique was considered as the main
method of the study. Also, the convenience sampling method was being existed in this thesis. A target sample size of 220 staff in the company were surveyed, there were only
200 rational questionnaires were entered and analyzed with the SPSS software version
19.0.
Descriptive statistics was conducted to provide the background information about assessment of respondents. After that, Reliability and Factor Analysis were used to test
the reliability of measurement scale and refine the scale. Then, in order to find out the relationship among independent variables as well as relationship between dependent variable and independent variables, the research conducted correlation testing and multiple-linear regression analysis. Finally, the results of statistical analyzing process provided evidence to support hypothesis that employee satisfaction on training in this company are positively affected by five training components namely Training Transfer, Training Contents, Instructors, Training Opportunities and Training Environment with
the Beta coefficient values are 0.684; 0.236; 0.232; 0.162; 0.137, respectively. This means that these training dimensions have the decreasing levels influence on dependent variable (Employee Satisfaction on Training). By contrast, the hypothesis on the positive effect of Training Duration term on the overall employees‘ training satisfaction was not supported by the empirical data in the research.
Last but not least, based on the findings of the research, the study gave recommendation in order to make a contribution in improving the training policy and process at II-VI Vietnam Company Limited so as to help employees enhance their performance as well as enable the organization to reduce turnover rate and achieve its goals. Besides, the thesis also did not forget to provide some suggestions for further
research.
