dc.description.abstract | Biological membrane plays an essential role in living bodies where many important mechanisms work on. Thus, creating of a membrane mimicking structure serving cellular research activities is required. In this project, Sum frequency generation (SFG) was used to study the interaction between cytochrome c (Cyt c) and a model lipid bilayer- cardiolipin/dDPPG (deuterated 1,2-dipalmitoyl-(d62)-sn- glycerol-3-phosphoglycerol) for investigating possibility good biological membrane. Through this study, it was found that cyt c makes neither great change nor destruction on the lipid chain that matches to role of cyt c in reality which is as signaling protein for some biological response process in living body. This evidence and abduction of comparison between supported lipid bilayer and others such as vesicles, bicelles and micelles convince the supported lipid bilayer is
one of the most suitable model systems for studying as biological membrane. | en_US |
