Application of simulation in motor manufacturing: A case study of Nidec corporation
Abstract
Improving productivity seems to be one of the primary objectives to be achieved
by any business, especially in the manufacturing field where competitiveness is
based on how productive a plant is. However, what makes this target much more
challenging is the occurrence of bottlenecks during production. Therefore, the aim
of this Thesis is to improve the productivity of an assembly line by providing an
approach to the Line Balancing technique with the help of the ARENA simulation
software to detect, analyze the root causes and resolve the bottlenecks.
