Lactobacillus rhamnosus was known a species that had many benefits in pharmaceutical, dairy food industry. To supply more applications for life, the detection of uronic production and antimicrobial activities of Lactobacillus rhamnosus PN04 was done. Interestingly, uronic acid was detected and measured about 0.74mg/ml by carbazole method according to BP98. Besides that, antimicrobial activities were also detected by performance agar diffusion method test. The antimicrobial activities showed on Candida albicans ATCC 14053, Salmonella typhimurium ATCC 19430, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853, Staphylococus aureus ATCC 25923, Micrococcus luteus ATCC 10240. The strongest activity was found on M. luteus. Especially, the activities were detected in exponential and stationary phases of cultivation. The antimicrobial agent was lysed after treated with protease K that shown the antimicrobial agent was proteinaceous bacteriocin. The study firstly reported uronic acid in Lactobacillus rhamnosus PN04 and antimicrobial activities on the tested pathogens.en_US
