Digital audio watermarking is a technique developed to help in copyright protection of audio files. The research in this area has been spurred by the growth of the Internet, and the ease of copying audio material. This has led to an unprecedented numbers in copyright infringements. One area of research in digital audio watermarking is concerned with embedding data in an audio signal such that it is inaudible and the watermark data can be accurately detected. In this thesis, the implementation of digital audio watermarking is studied in the context of base band Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum, and Quantization Index Modulation in frequencies of sinusoids. The spread spectrum theory describes two important Direct Sequence techniques, but the employed technique is the Coded Direct Sequence Spread Binary Phase Shift Keying. The psychoacoustic auditory model retrieves the necessary information about the masking threshold of the input audio signal; this model is a good approach that can be used for several applications such: perceptual coding, masking analysis, or watermark embedding. The two audio watermarking methods are chosen to implement using Matlab simulation are the Echo Watermarking and Spread Spectrum. The implementation in the DSP Kit TMS320C5510 has not finished yet and will be done in the future work.en_US
