This thesis report entitled to “Design Khanh Hoi Bridge Using Continuous Pre-Stressed Concrete Girder and Balanced Cantilever Technology With L=70m”. The design calculation and commentary are based on the implementation of the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications 4th version 2012. All of units in this document is offered in Standard International Units (SI). This thesis applies continuous prestressed concrete girder and balanced cantilever technology for building new Khanh Hoi bridge in Ho Chi Minh city. The thesis explains the reasons of choosing this solution to replace the traditional solution. This thesis indicates the detailed process outlining the design steps for continuous girder. In addition, the author used some related references applying in the design process. Beside designing continuous girder, this thesis also contains the design process of concrete deck, railing, pedestrian side in superstructure and concrete pier, pier footing which are considered as substructure of the bridge. In addition to explain the design steps of the design calculation, the comprehensive commentary goes beyond the specifics of the calculation to offer guidance on different situations that may be encountered in other bridges. In final chapter, this thesis using scientific research of Dr. Eng. Nguyen Dinh Hung and research’s group members to experiment and find new material, solution that is increasing quality and durability, saving construction material, protecting environment and labor to new Khanh Hoi Bridge.en_US
