In the automotive industry at Mercedes-Benz Vietnam, the Paintshop line is the line used to paint bodies and is located between two other lines. It is for this reason that Paintshop must build an optimal production sequence to achieve high efficiency of the whole production plant and ensure the output quantity to release for the next production line. The problem of a Paintshop line needs to define total number of late production batch before deliver to another department. The key factor in this problem of vehicle sequences that need to be solved in MIP modeling. In addition, the surface quality during production always need to reach standard qualification, therefore the process of finish line will take more time to resolve the surface if there is large number of defects. Lean six sigma application is necessary in this case to identify factors affect the defects and affect the output quality before release in order to reduce process time at Finish line stations.en_US
