Developing a user activities catching engine in student recommendation system
Abstract
The rapid development of social network on Internet has opened a new approach for web-based educational systems. Following this trend, many systems have been established as a virtual network to respond to the student’s demand.
The purpose of this thesis is to show the way how to analyze and implement the engine to catch the necessary data for the student recommendation system of a learning environment, which is built on top of Liferay portal platform for International University. In this study, we briefly cover some information about recommendation system and Liferay portal. We also suggest some solutions to work with Liferay Hook technique in order to use it as a main tool to collect data about user’s activities. The results will be hereby revealed and discussed.
