International trade is a backbone of economy as its expansion lead to the growth of the economy. Along with opportunities and benefits, international trade also poses many challenges to all components make it up including container terminal operation. One of the biggest problems facing with terminal container operation is the congestions and delays both outside the terminal which is at the gate area and inside the terminal which is at the yard area. The congestion not only affects truck turnaround time at the terminal but also cause harm to environment due to CO2 emission from tractors or trucks. Fortunately, this problem can be managed by implementing trucking appointment system (TAS) which can schedule the arrival of truck. With a limited number of trucks in each time window, the implementation of TAS is highly likely to reduce congestion. Therefore, this thesis aims to develop a mathematical model for truck scheduling appointment combining with simulation model. Expected outcome of the thesis could be a mathematical model of TAS to solve the scheduling problem and examine it in simulation model to draw concrete conclusion about the performance of TAS. The possible impact result from the outcomes would be better efficiency in container terminal operation.en_US
