Today businesses are seeking for warehousing improvements in order picking system (OPS) since they perceive those actions are intensively essential. The aim of this research was to investigate the relationship between order batching and routing policies, then an integrated model of the two component to improve the overall effectiveness of the order picking system for Schaeffler Vietnam Company’s (SVC) warehouse. The model of two-level variable neighborhood search (2level-VNS) is adopted to solve the JOBPRP, specifically with the first level is order level to finalize the batches and the second level is the routing design to optimize the travel distance. The results indicated this model can generate better performance in picking system with shorter path travelled (635 meters distance saving). Some recommendations are indicated to improve the practicality of this model considering a wider range of warehouse layout and operations.en_US
