A study on PAPR reduction method for OFDM systems
Abstract
The Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) has been used in many different wireless communication standards due to its many advantages. However, it has two major drawbacks, which are high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) and sensitivity to synchronization issues. This thesis concentrates on the PAPR problem of the OFDM system. Firstly, the effects of high PAPR to wireless communication systems are explored. Secondly, existing methods for PAPR reduction are reviewed. The Active Constellation Extension method has been chosen for deeply investigation and re-simulation for different conditions.
