Nowadays, biomedical engineers are focusing on create low-cost and effective devices to detect vital signal of a human body. These devices are created not for diagnostic but to provide a convenient for patients to evaluate their health status in order to decide easily whenever they should visit the doctor or not. Electrocardiography and respiratory rate are two vitals signal of interesting that will be detected in this project. The design of the device used to detect these signal need to work well, non-invasive and inexpensive. The ECG signal is usually contain noises and have small voltage magnitude, while the respiratory rate is usually detected non-invasively by transforming the chest motion into voltage signal. Using basic theories of signal processing, ECG signal is amplified and filtered to archive an acceptable stage and force sensors is used with an external part to transform a mechanical signal into electrical signal and processed by electrical devices to have a data signal. The final result devices initially satisfied the requirements of the project. In the future, this device should be modified to create a more convenience and suitable for user and the signal processing circuit can be modified to create a more quality signal. This device along with many designed portable devices in the world brings up a convenience value for patients.en_US
