dc.description.abstract | Smart Grid have revolutionized the electric power infrastructure by combination between
communication and information technologies. Base on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), Smart
Grid helps customers and electric providers to transfer data so that monitor, predict, and manage
energy usage effectively.
In this thesis, a simple Wireless Sensor Networks has been designed to collect data from
energy power meter, then transfer to server by GPRS. With these database, electric providers can
analyze and recommend useful information to their customers. Besides, SimpliciTI protocol is
research to implement into my Wireless Sensor Networks. Knowledge about Wireless Sensor
Networks and communication network is studied to estimate the result.
In terms of hardware, CC1110 Development Kits of Texas Instrument are chosen to establish
wireless network with low cost, low energy consumption, MCP3905 of Microchip is used for
energy power meter, Cinterion® BG2 Wireless Module is used to transmit data thought GPRS and
small kit to convert data from CC1110 Development Kits to Cinterion® BG2 Wireless Module.
In terms of software, I have used Terminal and Hercules software to create a simple center.
The most important software is Network Simulation 2 (NS2), a strong tool to simulate my network.
It can evaluate, analyze my network because of lack of Wireless Sensor Nodes.
However, in short of time, it is hard to build complete system from sensor to server or center.
I need to study more to complete all project in future. | en_US |
