dc.description.abstract | Purpose: In recent years, with the rapid development of science and society, the health problem of human is more concerned. The purpose of this study was to design a pedometer which was upgraded to a new version by combining with heart rate monitoring.
Methods: The study subject comprised microelectromechanical systems(MEMS) inertial sensors 3 axis ADXL 345 and sophisticated software to detect true steps with high probability. In addition, infrared sensor (IR) was also associated to record heart rate through the walking track.
Result: The subject was portable device that can count steps, measure distance, speed, extent calories burned and measure heart rate as well.
Conclusion: Step rate and heart rate measured with a modern pedometer correlates significantly with changes in health status and self-reported activity, and could be used as an useful outcome measure for recovered patients. | en_US |
