Zigbee Wireless Sensor Network for Smarthome
Abstract
This thesis implements a wireless sensor network based on ZigBee
technology for smarthome system. The network includes six nodes with one
coordinator, two routers and three end devices. Each node includes PIC
microcontrollers and Microchip RF modules. This network collects the temperature
and controls the devices in house. In end device node, PIC chip collects the
temperature from the sensor and send to the coordinator node for monitoring function.
The coordinator node can send commands to control the devices connected with
another end device node, for example lights, fans... Another end devices node acts as
remote control connected with the coordinator can also control the devices in
network. The routers are used for extending the range of the network. In this thesis, I
also plan to place the nodes in different places of the building for testing data
transmitting and receiving function of ZigBee nodes, and also testing the routing
function of Zigbee nodes in network..
