Study of architechtures and performance evaluation of distributed controller on software defined networking
Abstract
Distributed controllers have been proposed for Software Defined Networking (SDN) to address the issues of scalability and reliability that a centralized controller suffers from. The limitation of the distributed controllers is that the mapping between a switch and a controller is statically configured, which may result in uneven load distribution. To address this problem, I will propose the hybrid distributed SDN controller architecture, which can resolve the unbalance workload of SDN controller and provide the global network view for controller cluster. Key words – Software defined networks, distributed SDN controller, OpenFlow, Gnutella protocol, Inter-SDN controller communication.
