Virtual calculator interacts with user via webcam
Abstract
The interaction between Human and Computer exists universally in our daily lives. It usually accomplished by utilizing the physical controller, for example, keyboard, mouse, console or touchscreen. Gradually, the traditional methods obstruct the Natural User Interface (NUI) as the biggest boundary between user and computer. This thesis introduces the advanced prospect of remote the system using Computer Vision via digital information mean picture or sequence of images. There are a lot of enterprise products on the market allow human connect with system virtually but they are mostly complex and require expensive equipment. This paper content proposes the approach to the virtual environment technology applying gesture recognition to communicate with the system. That is the simpler ways but efficient and not need complicated setup. Proposed technique in this thesis supports hand tracking despite the low-light and complex background. The Virtual Calculator application was built to examine the operation of this method. The positive results show that this framework can be enhanced and manipulated further in the future.
