| dc.description.abstract | As searching demands now need to be more semantic, a new way of information retrieval should be developed..For animals, specifically, there should be a dictionary that can search for the animal we need from its description rather than its name because searching it by its name would be an impossible task if the name is unknown to the user. This thesis is about using Ontology- a representation of relations and properties between entities under one domain-in animal semantic searching
The program is designed to have many functions to satisfy the user searching purpose. Each function can be used independently or in combination with other functions. Semantic search is applied to provide results ranking and suggestion for related results for any alternatives or further exploration.
. The program will be tested through test cases to observe the behaviour of the system. Finally, it will be compared with other animal dictionary websites and evaluated by real beta-users to get suggestions for better improvement. | en_US |
