Capacitated vehicle routing problem in vegetable supply chain- A case study in satrafoodds
Abstract
The safe vegetables business in Ho Chi Minh city is still facing difficulties,
such as: the lack of prestige suppliers in agricultural and aquaculture products, the
difficulty in harvesting and storage process because of the level of expertise and
processing plant, the underdevelopment of transport infrastructure, and more
specifically, in the business of convenience store chain, the distribution of
vegetables from processing facility to all of the stores everyday is a challenge for
the manager when making transportation plan which is the best choice to optimize
the total cost of business. In this thesis, a meta-heuristic approach for solving the
capacitated vehicle routing problem based on simulated annealing is applied in a
real case study in Satrafoods Management Center (also known as Satrafoods) - a
company with more than 150 convenience stores located in Ho Chi Minh City,
Satrafoods has faced with the distribution case for supplying fresh vegetable to
consumer from 5:30 am to 21:00pm every day.
