AI- powered web-based app for automatic comic translation using reactjs, nodejs and python
Abstract
In the evolving landscape of digital media, comic translation has emerged as a niche yet
impactful sector. The purpose of this thesis is to conceptualize and develop a dependable AI powered web-based application premised on the principles of machine learning and natural
language processing. This application aims to automate the translation of comics, thus
democratizing access to a broader range of comic literature across language barriers.
Leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as ReactJS, NodeJS, Python, MySQL, OCR
libraries for text recognition, and Google API for automatic translation, this project endeavors
to create an efficient and well-designed platform. As an initial step, the platform incorporates
an easy-to-use interface for users to upload comics, which are then automatically translated into
English.
By integrating electronic text recognition and translation methods, the application
significantly enhances the user experience. The ultimate goal is to establish a direct interaction
between the comic reader and a plethora of global comic literature, previously inaccessible due
to language barriers.
This project is underpinned by a meticulously planned strategy for applying AI in the field of
language translation, utilizing contemporary technology to provide a unique service to comic
enthusiasts worldwide. The primary objective is to create an engaging, interactive, and user friendly application.
This application facilitates easy searching, browsing, and selection of comics. It incorporates
a robust search engine that enables users to find comics that align with their personal
preferences. By employing an interactive search method and filtering results based on user
input, users can explore comics from around the world.
The application also allows users to view complete details of the comics, read reviews from
fellow users, and leave their own feedback. A distinctive feature is the inclusion of a drag-and drop functionality, which provides an intuitive method for users to manage their comic
collections.
