Calculation And Design Of Brewery Wastewater Treatment System With Capacity Of 610 M3/Day
Abstract
The brewing industry is a popularly sector that employs various technologies. The
wastewater generated from brewing processes contains elevated levels of pH, BOD,
COD, and TSS posing potential environmental pollution risks. This thesis focuses on
designing a wastewater treatment system with a capacity of 610 m3/day for a brewing
factory, based on reviewed and evaluated input concentrations of wastewater
characteristics from different brewing wastewater treatment systems. The thesis is
structured into four main sections. The first chapter provides an overview of pollution
sources, wastewater characterization, and emphasizes the production technology and
common characteristics of brewing wastewater. The second chapter presents an
overview of treatment technologies and proposes suitable technical solutions. Detailed
calculations for the treatment units are presented in the third chapter. The fourth chapter
includes a construction measurement of the treatment unit. Additionally, technical
drawings are provided to illustrate the design of the water treatment plant and individual
treatment units. The references and appendices used in this thesis are presented in the
final section.
