Calculation And Design Of A Pig Farming Wastewater Treatment System With A Capacity Of 610 M3/Day
Abstract
Wastewater from processes in pig farming contains BOD, COD, TSS, TN, TP, and
Coliforms at high levels, causing significant harm to the environment. The techonological
methods applied to the treatment of swine wastewater are typically intricate and involve
multiple stages of advanced processes. This thesis focuses on designing a wastewater
treatment system for pig farming with a capacity of 610 m3/day, based on considering and
evaluating the input concentrations of pig farming wastewater and the outlet water to meet
the requirement of column A of QCVN 62-MT:2016/BTNMT. This thesis is divided into
six parts. Chapter 1 provides a general introduction to the pig farming industry and common
characteristics of wastewater composition. Chapter 2 presents an overview of treatment
technologies, proposes two treatment technologies, and comparision between two
proposals in term of advantages and disadvantages. Chapter 3 discusses the specific
calculation parameters for each treatment unit. Chapter 4 covers the list of equipment used
and Chapter 5 shows technical drawings of the treament units. Additionally, construction
details of each treatment unit are illustrated in Chapter 6. References and appendices are
placed at the end of the thesis.Hence, this thesis provides a comprehensive wastewater
treatment system design for pig farming wastewater, which would be potential for
application to treat wastewater sources with similar characteristics in the future.
