Building A System For Tracing Provenance Of Educational Certificates.
Abstract
Digital signatures are essential for verifying the legitimacy and integrity of digital
documents, hence aiding in the verification of the origin of educational certificates. Digital
signatures are considered more secure than e-signatures since they are cryptographically linked
to the signed document and can be authenticated. This thesis explores the knowledge pertaining
to PDF digital signatures and develops a system for tracking the origin of documents using this
knowledge. The proposed solution would be a comprehensive online application that includes
numerous components for processing PDFs to mitigate vulnerabilities related to digital
signatures in PDFs using iText. The system efficiently generates and displays report data,
including a significant amount of signature data that is utilized for a wide range of conditions
in signature validation. The system is an effective instrument for validating and publishing
educational certificates. Additionally, digital signature is a robust technology that should be
utilized for the tracing system.
