Today, mobile technology is significantly developing with advances in speed, power, storage, and communication. In addition to creating an amazing impact on the medical field, mobile technology has revolutionalized the way medical professionals work; “mobile healthcare” is the new transformation. To further advance the mobile healthcare industry and the Vietnamese community, the purpose of this study is to develop and make a mobile application for the Android phone and Bluetooth interface hardware to replace the SpO2 data management software nVISION, developed by Nonin Medical, Inc., for the computer. The Bluetooth interface hardware and UrSpO2 application were successfully designed and written for the Android phone. The Bluetooth interface hardware receives and sends SpO2 data from an oximeter Avant 9700 to an Android phone through a Bluetooth connection. The UrSpO2 application on an Android phone can receive, process, display, and manage data sent from the Bluetooth interface hardware. The Bluetooth interface hardware and the UrSpO2 application works well for personal or home use. They are suitable for basic data analysis, and are faster and more convenient than the nVISION software. This thesis is only a beginning, and extra research is need to further serve the Tele- healthcare industry. First and foremost, the interface should be redesigned to have a better appearance. Another important alteration needed is to add a feature on the UrSPO2 that can share data between a website and an Android phone through the Internet. Furthermore, a website should be designed to receive and manage healthcare data from the mobile phone devices. Finally, another UrSpO2 application can also be developed in other operating systems such as iOS or Windows Mobile to increase the range of potential users.en_US
