dc.description.abstractEntrepreneurship has taken the attention of both educators and policy makers during the last decades. Increasing unemployment among the educated groups, especially graduates of university education system in Vietnamese society has become a big socioeconomic problem. Thus, it is necessary to consider the context of entrepreneurship in university education. In this regard, the overall purpose of this research is to study the external as well as internal factors that affect the entrepreneurial intentions of university students in Ho Chi Minh City. As for this model, the Entrepreneurial Intention is taken as a function of Social Support from the Government, Social Norms, Education, Role Models, Working Experience, Feasibility Perceived, Desirability Perceived. The number of 350 students was selected for study random sampling method This research studied the factors affecting the intentions starting-up among university students in Ho Chi Minh city. Correlation analysis showed a significant positive relationship between the variables of Desirability Perceived, Social Support, Social Norms, Working Experience and Feasibility Perceived with Entrepreneurial Intentions of students. Result of Path analysis showed that the perceived desirability variable has the most impact with the ensemble of 64.7%, the next one is feasibility perceived, social support and working experience with the effect of 25.7%; 17.3% and 6.8% respectively. Lastly, changing social norms with the path estimate of 8.2% had the negative impact on students' entrepreneurial intentions. The results also revealed that Social Support, Social Norms, Entrepreneurship Education and Role Model indirectly impact the intentions of students through Desirability Perceived. This study can help educators and policy makers of enhance students' entrepreneurial intentions and improve their entrepreneurial behavior.
