Measuring the effects of driver's organization commitment - A case study Ho Chi Minh City
Abstract
This research measures the effects of driver’s organizational commitment
who are working in Ho Chi Minh city. Moreover, this research examines the impact
of the six independent variables are technology innovation, risk, working
environment, relationship with management, fringe benefit and relationship with
coworker and the dependent variable job satisfaction on organizational commitment.
With the result of this research, it provides a general view about real needs of drivers
to organizations and transportation companies that are operating in in HCMC in order
to have appropriate adjustments and effective improvement for maintaining stability in
operation.
With the results of the path analysis exploring the direct and indirect effects
of six independent and one dependent variables on organizational commitment,
this research suggests that in order to achieve high driver’s organizational
commitment, companies in HCMC should achieve high level of employee job
satisfaction by providing the better relationship with management and the better
technology innovations. Besides that, this research finds the factor of relationship
with management that has crucial role regarding to both job satisfaction and
organizational commitment. Especially, this research also points out the factor of risk
that effect on driver’s organizational commitment. This factor is the particular
character of driver job in everywhere not except in HCMC.
In conclusion, with experiences in process of conducting research,
researcher also knows about the limitations, have helpful recommendations for future
research. Moreover, this research also provides some recommendations to
transportation companies in HCMC in order to have adjustment and improve the
level driver’s organizational commitment.
