Business plan for a social entrepreneur project - A cultural café
Abstract
The cafe model is increasingly popular in Ho Chi Minh city that still
doesn‟t satisfy the needs of many people who is officer. These lead to the research
project of the business plan for starting up non-for-profit cafe to solve these
weaknesses so that officer can have the good eating experience and facilitate who is
disadvantaged youth get to work in order to integrate in social communities.
The non-for-profit cafe has the name, Cultural cafe, which means that it
belongs to business and society. The term “non-for-profit” illustrates that my cafe run
for social purpose. In more details, Cultural cafe run for earning profit, but this kind
of money is managed by business to use for reinvesting on the cafe to improve service
quality, and organizing the parties, contests, events, classes for social people to take
part in and enjoy.
When starting up a business, there should be a business plan to evaluate its
success. However, in order to design the feasible business plan. The understanding of
the wants and needs of target customers is the key thing.
The research method is qualitative. It is conducted by focus in-depth
interview to get primary data. The purposes of this method are to have deeply
understanding on what customers really want and need on a cafe, and find out the
existing weaknesses as well as strengths of Cultural cafe. With in-depth interview,
there are some experts asked to get the valuable information supporting to from the
business plan.
The research applied some concepts and theories: SWOT analysis,
Marketing mix, income statement, balance sheet, net cash flow, net present value to
build strategy and investigate the business plan.
The target customers of this study are officers who often go to cafe.
Cultural cafe will be located at 50 Nguyen Trai street, district 1, Ho Chi Minh city.
This business plan offers mainly the meals with the insurance of hygiene, good flavor,
reasonable price, nutritive, and diversification beside the drinks.
