The effect of world oil price on Vietnam's petroleum import-export turnover
Abstract
The purpose of this research was to examine the effects of five different
working factors including work overload, role ambiguity & role conflict, working
relationship, career development, and working environment (independent variable) on
job stress (mediated variable) and employee job performance (dependent variable) in
six different industries in Dong Xuyen Industrial Zone, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.
A survey was conducted with 378 respondents to collect the primary data. This thesis
used quantitative approach as the major method, with applied statistical techniques,
included factor, multiple regression, and path analysis. As a result, working factors
have significant and positive influence on job stress and in contrast, have negative
influence on employee job performance. Moreover, this research also found out that
Career development factor is not has directly effect on employee job performance, but
indirectly effect through job stress. Both Role ambiguity & role conflict and Work
overload are not had any effect on job stress. From the results of the data analysis, this
research also recommended that companies in Dong Xuyen Industrial Zone should
reduce job stress by reduce conflicts in working relationship, career development, and
working environment in order to enhance employee job performance.
