Human resource planning is an important aspect of human resources management that combines three important activities: forecasting, identifying and acquiring the right number of people with the proper skills, and creating interactive links between organization objectives and people planning activities. In the health care organization, human resource is described as the heart of the health care system and the most important aspect of health care. Therefore, using qualitative methods, this research aims to get insight into human resource planning of Dong Nai General Hospital for five-year period of time, which is between 2014 and 2018. The findings suggest that the hospital is still facing a shortage in (highly) skilled medical personnel, but it is striving to overcome the problem. The research found out that the hospital decided to train their medical staff by internal training, inviting experts to training, and sending their medical staff to training sessions of some famous hospitals in Vietnam and other countries such as Thailand, Taiwan, and Singapore. In addition, they planned to hire external experts to collaborate and share their skills to staff of the hospital.
