Exploring factors affecting turnover intention in Intercontinental asiana Saigon (Food and beverage department)
Abstract
Vietnam has emerged as a potential destination for travelers within Southeast Asia recently and Ho Chi Minh City is known one of many attractive venues for visitors. This leads to a number of hotels have been opened here and hospitality industry develops constantly in this city. However, the bad news is employee turnover is still a serious problem within this industry. This problem also happens in InterContinental Asiana Saigon, one of the most luxury hotels in Ho Chi Minh City. Therefore, the aim of this research is to discover factors affected turnover intention of employee based on job satisfaction in Food and Beverage department of InterContinental Asiana Saigon (ICAS).
Throughout the whole research, factors which associated with turnover intention of employee have been explored is divided into two groups: intrinsic factors (such as support from co-worker, leadership, personal growth, job stress and recognition) and extrinsic factors (such as salary, company policies, risk acceptance and promotion). Finally, recommendations are make for both scholars and managers of the hotels.
