There has been a steady growth in Vietnam pharmaceutical sector during recent years with 712 state, joint stock and private pharmaceutical firms, 7,500 private drug stores, 200 pharmacies in hospitals and more than 10,500 retailers (VNS Youth, 2010). However, pharmaceutical sector are currently facing with the shortage of human capital and the high turnover rate of medical representatives. The primary purposes of this study are to indicate the factors impacting on organizational commitment and job satisfaction; investigate the correlation of organizational commitment, job satisfaction to turnover intention among medical representatives in Ho Chi Minh pharmaceutical sector. With the help of questionnaire, 90 responses from medical representatives in various pharmaceutical companies located in Ho Chi Minh City were collected through convenience sampling method. Cronbach’s Alpha, EFA and multiple regressions were used for reliability, unidimensionlity and hypothesis testing. Out of four factors, only two variables – satisfaction with payment/compensation and satisfaction with promotion opportunity were proved to be positive contributors to job satisfaction. Multiple regressions analysis showed the negative relationship between organizational commitment, job satisfaction and turnover intention. In spite of the limitation of small sample, this study proposed a theoretical framework for further researches.en_US
