dc.description.abstractCorporate governance has been considered to be the most concern in firm development. Furthermore, board of directors have played the significant roles, which decide the corporate governing whether good or not. There are many previous studies have discussed about relationship between corporate governance and firm performance as well as board director and firm performance. This study aim to examine that relationship in detail; to be more specific, the impacts of board characteristics on firm performance. Based on the panel data for 117 non - financial firms in HOSE from 2012 - 2016, the final result has presented that the firm should improve board size and attract more foreign managers to enhance firm performance, especially ROA.en_US
