dc.description.abstractThis thesis aims to test the relation between the corporate governance characteristics and banks performance of nine listed banks on Ho Chi Minh stock exchange market (HOSE) and Ha Noi stock exchange market (HNX) during the periods of eight years from 2009 – 2016. The analysis using the regression proves the significant effect on banks performance. The results from the regression process suggest that the significant impact of elements corporate governance on performance of banks. The ownership concentration, block-holders is negative relation with the banks performance. In other to increase the performance of banks, there should be decreased the board ownership and block-holders. In addition, the board size, board composition and CAR are insignificant relation with the banks performance. The finding in this thesis is consistent with the previous empirical research in similarly topic in the context of the U.S and Indonesia economy.
