| dc.description.abstract | Thesis "Analysis of the factors affecting the time of customs clearance of imported goods at seaports at the Department of Ho Chi Minh City Customs" aims to analyze the factors having effect on the clearance time of imported goods in import and export activities, thereby suggesting some solutions to shorten the clearance time of goods, reduce expenditure for businesses, improve management efficiency of Customs, contribute to socio-economic development and quickly integrate with countries in the region as well as over the world.
The study was conducted in two phases: preliminary research and official research. Preliminary research is done by qualitative method. The expert opinion collected in qualitative method is derived from previous research. Official study is conducted by quantitative method: Collect the data of clearance/release time of imported goods in the declaration that must conduct physical inspection of goods with sample size of 254. Data collection was conducted by using technique of descriptive statistical analysis and multiple linear regression analysis.
The research results show that 5 independent variables in the model consist of 2 quantitative variables and 3 qualitative variable, in which 4 independent variable are positively related to clearance time leading to increase time: the quantity of items, the quantity of package, inspection rate, payment method and 1 independent variable is negatively related to clearance time that resulting reduction of time: customs declarants.
There are still some certain restrictions. The biggest problem in this research is that at present there is no study related to this issue. On the other hand, due to inadequate time, financial, data collection ability ... there are still some issues that can not be mentioned

as: the scope of research is only encapsulated in one border gate of seaport; number of research samples is not much; study time is only for a short period of time; the level of impact of the specialized agencies and the Border Agency.
The thesis also made some recommendations to the Customs and other State management agencies on specific measures to reduce the clearance/release time of goods in import-export activities. It is hoped that the research topics in this thesis will help enterprises to reduce business costs, increase their competitiveness in import-export activities, and help the Customs and other State management agencies to develop appropriate policies, create the most favorable conditions for businesses, and improve the efficiency of State management of the assigned sector. . | en_US |
